International Arts Carnival 2021 - WeWeWebWeb Carnival

Discover how to release exhilarating energy and artistry through “expression physical education”, an uplifting way to teach and learn creative dance. Originating from University of Miyazaki in Japan and presented in this innovative video demonstration by Hong Kong’s Unlock Dancing Plaza, it’s all about observation, imitation, and kinetic movement. Young children can follow online to find out how to stretch, run, hop, and overcome obstacles, ahead of reproducing the actions of various creatures. Who needs to go out when you can exercise both mind and body at home!

Theme I: It’s Running Time (#1–#4)

In the first 3 episodes, the dancers will disassemble running movements into parts and merge them with music and beats. Parents and children will be led to dance in Episode 4! Children are encouraged to practice the movements taught in each episode from time to time. Together we can overcome any obstacles and enjoy our dancing time together!

Ep.1 Travel the World
Get your ticket to travel the world by waving your hands. Start disassembling the running movements with the waving hands. Paying attention to the angle, amplitude and direction will let you perceive the surrounding environment.

Ep.2 Leap Everywhere
Leap over the meadow to the seaside! Where should we go next?(suggest other translation please) Imagination will take you everywhere!

Ep.3 Demon Shows Up!
The lurking Demon is blocking the road. How can we defeat it? Clear the obstacles and move on!

Ep.4 Go Go, Let’s Go!
Run! Play the music! Show what you have learnt in the last 3 episodes! Show your talent!

Theme II:  Secret Critter (#5–#8)

Dancers will teach you to imitate various creatures. After training your observation, body adjustment and extensibility, and cooperating with the others, you can create a new creature in the last episode!

Ep.5 Let’s Transform!
Papers, scissors and a pen! Move your body and use your imagination, everyone can transform into a new critter!
*Blank papers, scissors and a marker are required for the activities in this episode

Ep.6 Combine and Create Something New!
1 + 1 = 2.（suggest a new translation please） Can Critter A combine with Critter B and yield Critter C? Come on, parents and children! Let’s move your body and create our own new critter!
*Some of the movements in this episode require two or more persons

Ep.7 Explore and Observe!
Different angles reveal different worlds. Enlarging and shrinking creatures with lighting effects, and observing how they move and run.
* Torch or smartphone with flashlight function are required for the activities in this episode. Darker environment will be preferred

Ep.8 Metamorphosis!
Mastering the skills in Episode 5 to 7 will give birth to a brand-new creature!
